Current experiments with eroding slide projection film with the aid of oyster mycelium. This was done by placing projection slides in a container of active Pleurotus mycelium for about a week. You can see both the decomposition of the emulsion and the addition of the mycelial strands (black) on the photograph. In my further experiments I hope to capture in more detail the way the enzymes of the mycelium digest the image, in various stages of decay. Later I plan to collect the digested elumultion and smelt out the silver.
